BIOGRAPHY - David D'Or

David D'Or has a unique style of singing in the world's music scene, having to his acclaim eight gold and platinum albums. He harmoniously integrates elements of classical, pop and world music into his own style.

 

David performs all over the world accompanied by his Israeli Ensemble or by world renowned orchestras and conductors, such as the Philharmonic Orchestras of Rome, France, Vienna, London and more…

Sept. 2007 - David was invited by Peter Gabriel to the WOMAD Festival in London, celebrating its 25th anniversary, to perform on the big stage in front of 10,000 people audience, and recieved fantastic reviews, from there continued to WOMAD Singapore, celebrating its 10th anniversary, and to a tour in Asia, in the biggest stadiums and music halls in front of thousands of people.

2007 also published a new album : "Be Hofa'a Haya' (Live Performance) which contains clips of his live performances all over the world.

May 2007 - Hallelu, David D'Ors new symphony performed in Belgrade with the Belgrade Symphony Orchestra of 150 musicians and choir, conducted by David Eaton, director of the New York Symphony Orchestra. The concert recieved amazing reviews, and was transmitted at prime time on TV.

 

December 2006 David was invited by the monarchy in Thailand to perform at their celebration of 60 years of reign of the king, and once again the performances received enthusiastic reviews.

 

2006 saw the release of the album “Kemo Haruach” (Like the Wind) created together with other well known Israeli Artists like Arik Einstein, Arcadi Duchin, Shlomo Shabbat and Ehud Banai.

 

2004 - David represented Israel in the Eurovision competition with his song “Le Ha’amin” ( To Believe). That same year David was again invited by Zubin Mehta to perform “Stabat Mater” (Pergolesi) solo.

 

2003 - David was invited to perform all his songs in arrangements with the Israeli Philharmonic. The concert was a phenomenal success and led to many performances with different orchestras all over Israel. The Concert was recorded and the album released was called “David D'Or ve Ha'Philharmonit” (David D'Or and the Philharmonic). The album earned a gold award.

 

In 2001 the release of David D'Ors album “Ba Neshama” (Within the Soul) which included the hit song “Kol Hakochavim” (All The Stars) won him the tile for Best Performer and song in 2002-2003.

 

1998-2001 - performance in Israel, and the mutual show with Etti Ankri.

 

1998 - Touring around the world, among his important performances: Londong, Trafalgar Square, in front of 55,000 cheering audience, Sweden at the Royal Palace, India, Marocco, Turkey, USA, Italy, Serbia, and France in front of an audience of 40,000 people. Also Romania, Taiwan and Singapore.

 

1997 David and Eti Ankri released a combined album which too received a platinum award and began a series of local and international concert tours which lasted three years. 1997 saw the Raanana Symphony Orchestra request a work written for David by the famous Israeli composer Josef Bardanashvili . The piece was called “Yeldai Ha’Elohim” ( My Children of God), the theme being “Love your neighbor as yourself”.

 

1995-97 - David performed with the group 'Habrera hativeet' called 'David and Shlomo' - for 3 years, after the very successful (Platinum) album.

 

1995 - A combined world music album was released together with the band “Lahakat Habrera Hativeet” and Shlomo Bar, called David ve Shlomo (David and Shlomo).The album certified platinum and to this day is sold successfully.

 

1994 - D'Or was invited by the Pope to perform in Rome. The concert was broadcast worldwide and received enthusiastic reviews. David performed many times in the Vatican. He composed a song especially for the Pope’s celebration of his 20 years of service, which David performed at the San Petro before millions of viewers worldwide. The performance received much praise.

 

1993 - David’s second album “Bagovah Mishtaneh” (Changing Altitude), released in  included the song “Tishmor al Ha’olam Yeled” (Look after the world child) which became an inalienable asset for Israeli music and earned him a platinum album.

 

1991 David’s first album was released and received rave reviews.Was awarded a gold album.  That year David was invited by the conductor, Zubin Mehta and the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra to perform “Carmina Burana.”

 

David performs all over the world accompanied by his Israeli Ensemble or by world renowned orchestras and conductors, such as the Philharmonic Orchestras of Rome, France, Vienna, London, Belgrade, Baltimore, Sweden, Las Vegas, Turkey, Budapest Singapore, China and more…

 

Some of David’s most memorable concerts took place in: London, at Trafalgar Square to an audience of 55000 people; Sweden, for the king and queen; India; Morocco; Turkey; USA ( Washington, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York etc.); Italy Serbia; Romania; Taiwan; Singapore and in France to a n Audience of 40000 people.
